Viridisol F

THF is a widely used aprotic solvent for Grignard and other organometallic reactions. THF is also used as solvent for polymers in adhesives and coatings applications. unlike modt commercial THF, THF from Pennakem is made from renewable chemicals.

THF is in fact one of the solvents with the largest carbon footprint, therefore it is important to minimize its use in day to day operations. Viridisol F is the easiest replacement as it can reduce the carbon footprint to one third compared to the fossil based tetrahydrofuran. The only other solvent with a smaller carbon footprint is Viridisol M, another solvent in Pennakem Viridisol product line.
