A-Leen Aroma-3 is upcycled from byproducts of cinnamon spice production. Cinnamon trees are felled after eight to fifteen years of growth. The bark from the trunks and strong branches is peeled off and processed into cinnamon spice. The upper part of the tree, consisting of leaves and twigs, is a waste product from which an essential oil is extracted. Further upcycling of this oil using green chemistry produces A-Leen Aroma-3.
