Caprocine

Caprocine is a mild, multifunctional cleansing agent for the skin and scalp. It also has general antimicrobial properties and helps protect cosmetic formulations. Due to its ability to reduce sebum production and its activity against Cutibacterium acnes, Caprocine is an ideal anti-acne ingredient. It is also effective against dandruff due to its activity against Malassezia furfur.  For formula protection, Caprocine is best combined with other multifunctional ingredients, such as A-Leen 5 or A-Leen 8.

Caprocine is a powder, and its solubility in water increases significantly at higher pH values. Therefore, it dissolves best in water at pH > 7. Since Caprocine is most effective at pH 3-7, the pH of formulations should be lowered after adding Caprocine. The presence of oils or surfactants helps keep Caprocine in solution within its optimal pH range.
